Keep them clean The grooves on the club head aren't there for decoration only. They help propel and spin the ball when you hit it. If the grooves are clogged with dirt, it will affect the way the ball spins and flies in the air. Hang a club-cleaning brush to your bag and use it often. It also helps to have a small, damp towel for cleaning the club heads after each swing.

Beginning with this idea in mind, you will see that when honing your golf skills it makes sense to start with smaller swings, then build up to the full swing. This is the reason why a person just learning the sport will learn and teach the body the correct motions iin developing an accurate and powerful swing by starting with the short swing. Trying to learn the full swing first makes it much more difficult to learn the correct muscle coordination that the full swing requires.

Maintain Your Angles. Stability improves torque and produces consistency. The keys to stability during the backswing are a constant knee flex and steady spine angle.

After hitting a shot, you must read it correctly. You must be in a balanced finish to read it properly, so you can check your alignment in case the shot is off line. As you stand in a perfectly balanced finish and watch your ball, ask yourself: how does my balance feel, how was the brush, how was the path, was the clubface in the correct position, and did I hit it in the center of the clubface? Then, either focus more on what is missing, or play it and go fix it after the round. You will only be able to accomplish 8 to 10 perfect shots per round, so be mentally prepared!

Speed Controls Distance
The seemingly obvious fact that the sand (not the club) moves the ball out of the bunker is often misunderstood. To control the distance your bunker shots travel, you have to be able to manage the speed of the sand, which isn't as difficult as you might imagine. The length of the swing is irrelevantit's the speed of the clubhead that really matters. Practice pitching sand out of a bunker until you can consistently control how far it goes, and only then add a golf ball to the equation.

Do you buy a club on how it feels, how it looks, or how it performs? All three ways is what we'd prefer but the most important is how it works for you. Golf clubs are a major investment so try out as many clubs as possible. Go to a golf store and if they have a practice driving net, take a few swings with different manufactured clubs. Or ask your friends if you could borrow theirs to try out. Many manufacturers have "demo days" at golf courses where you can try out their clubs on the driving range. Check out when they may have a demo day in your area. Some stores have a policy where, once you buy clubs, you have a trial period to use them. If you don't like them, you can return them for another kind. Find out if the store will replace them at 100% exchange or a portion of that

The grip most certainly will influence the clubhead, but any type of grip that will keep the wrists from opening or closing the blade is a good grip regardless of how the hands grip the club. Whatever grip is chosen the thumbs should be on top. The thumbs are the feelers and being on top one can feel if the blade is square. Any stroke that holes the ball consistently is a good putting stroke. Regardless of the style of the stroke the putter head should never be taken to the outside of the target line on the backswing.
